Ted Danson has some fond memories from working with Woody Harrelson on Cheers, including the time the latter skipped filming to watch the Berlin Wall come down.

On this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Danson gushed over the “amazing” actor as he recalled his “favorite story” from their days of co-starring on the hit sitcom.

“It was the eighth or ninth year. It was a little more relaxed,” Danson told host Drew Barrymore. “If somebody showed up 15 minutes late, it was on time. If you were half an hour late, you were late. [Harrelson] was not there [for] 45 minutes and we were going, ‘Well, this is too much.’”

Danson continued, “Somebody came running in and said, ‘Oh, Woody’s in Berlin. The wall is coming down and he couldn’t miss it. He said he’ll be back soon.’”

According to Danson, there were no hard feelings because that’s just the kind of guy Harrelson is.

“He takes these big old chunks of life. He’s best friends with the world genuinely,” Danson said. “He knows so many people because he’s one of the best, most fun people to hang out with.”

The two actors met when Harrelson joined Season 4 of Cheers in 1985. They starred on the show together until its finale in 1993.

Nowadays, the duo is gearing up to release their new SiriusXM podcast, Where Everybody Knows Your Name with Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson (Sometimes), which drops on June 12.

“Someone approached me about doing [a podcast] and they said, ‘You should have a partner.’ And we all immediately thought of Woody,” Danson said when asked how the podcast came to be on The Drew Barrymore Show. “I think he said it to me — it was a chance for us to hang out together.”

Danson continued, “When you work a lot, you go in different directions. We hadn’t seen each other — well, we had like once a year — but for 30 years, we had never really hung out after Cheers. We loved each other and had a great time. He’s an amazing guy.”

The Drew Barrymore Show airs on weekdays on CBS. You can check the website for local airtimes.

Leave It to Beaver is one of the most well-known American television shows of all time. The adventures of the Cleaver family – Ward, June, Wally, and Theodore “Beaver” Cleaver – became legendary, and the characters became the archetype against which all future sitcom families would be judged. However, despite the show’s popularity, there are plenty of Leave It to Beaver secrets out there.

From first auditions and casting changes to production secrets and behind-the-scenes anecdotes, we’ve found everything you could possibly want to know about Leave It to Beaver, including why the show ended after 234 episodes.

Be sure to SHARE these Leave It to Beaver secrets with everyone who appreciates classic television.

Tony Dow’s Acting Experience

Prior to his casting as Wally Cleaver, Tony Dow had little acting experience. However, he was an accomplished diver and won a Junior Olympics championship in the 1950s.

Barbara Billingsley’s Pearls...

Cleaver family matriarch June always wore a distinctive pearl necklace throughout the series’ run. The look became an iconic part of the character, and become a universal symbol for the trope of a “sitcom mom” (see: Marge Simpsons). However, the character’s jewelry choice wasn’t a fashion statement. Actress Barbara Billingsley was insecure about an indentation in her neck and insisted on wearing the necklace in all her scenes.

The pearls weren’t the only identifiable part of Barbara Billingsley’s wardrobe.

Early in the series, her character, June, would often wear flat shows. However, as the show went on and the teenage actors grew, Billingsley’s shoes transitioned to heels so she could maintain a height difference with them.

Fictitious Mayfield

For years, fans have debated where the fictional town of Mayfield — where the series took place — was set. Some claimed the town was in Wisconsin (thanks to a throwaway line about the governor living in Madison), while others pointed to an episode where Beaver wanted a surfboard as proof that Mayfield was in a coastal state.

In truth, the creators never had a specific state in mind for Mayfield.

Stock footage of Skokie, Illinois was used for establishing shots of Mayfield.

The Brightest Stars Of The ’80s – Where Are They Now? Which Superstar Ruined His Promising Career Because Of Poor Legal Advice From Their Attorney? https://www.dofashion.net/the-brightest-stars-of-the-80s-where-are-they-now-which-superstar-ruined-his-promising-career-because-of-poor-legal-advice-from-their-attorney/ Fri, 07 Jun 2024 01:45:26 +0000 https://www.dofashion.net/?p=3716

If you’d like to catch up with your favorite stars from the’80s, then keep reading. We are sure that you are wondering where some of the most famous celebrities from the ’80s are and what they are up to these days. We certainly have, so we made a list of the brightest stars from back then.

Some of them ran into financial issues and had to refinance, while a lot faced problems with alcohol and went to drug and alcohol rehab. There also see celebs who managed to get even richer over the years. If you have questions about our ’80s stars, you’re in luck, because we have all the answers.

Don Johnson – Miami Vice

Don Johnson began his career as a stage and movie actor in the ’70s. His rise to fame began when he appeared on the popular series Miami Vice, where he portrayed Det. Sonny Crockett in a city filled with drugs, lawyers and gangsters. Don also released two music albums during the ’80s, with the single ‘Heartbeat’ getting to No.5 on the Billboard charts. Nowadays, you can catch him on the TV show Eastbound & Down.

Matt Dillon – Bad Boy

A very promising young actor from the early ’80s was Matt Dillon. Matt played a bad boy in many movies, including Rumble Fish, My Bodyguard, and Little Darlings. He also made appearances in several comedy films alongside Owen Wilson and Kate Hudson. He once played a drug addict in the movie Drugstore Cowboy, which was praised both by audiences and critics.

Mel Gibson – Alcohol Abuse

Mel Gibson has come back after being in Hollywood exile for over ten years. Mel was a huge star in the ’80s, but his behavior got too out of hand for Hollywood to handle. The actor was once barred from driving since he was arrested driving under the influence of alcohol. His DUI attorney was again able to avoid a prison sentence when he got arrested under the same charges in 2006. We hope he keeps the best criminal attorney in his contacts list as it might come in handy if he continues his dangerous behavior.

Kiefer Sutherland – Legal Issues

Kiefer Sutherland started his career in America as the bully Ace in the classic ’80s movie, Stand By Me. He is the son of famous veteran actor Donald Sutherland, thus he must have gotten part of his acting skills from his dad. He is another celebrity who needed a good DUI lawyer after he got arrested for driving under the influence charges in L. A. in 2007. A few weeks later, he apologized for his behavior. It’s a good thing that Kiefer doesn’t need to go to any alcohol rehab facilities (at least, as far as we know).

Harrison Ford – Frequent Injuries

Harrison Ford became one of the most popular Hollywood actors in the late ’70s. His rise to stardom began with his appearance in the Star Wars original franchise, portraying the heroic rogue Han Solo. Later, he appeared in many other films, including the Indiana Jones movie series. Harrison got a lot out of his health insurance when he herniated a disk in his back in 1983. He also hurt his ankle in 2014 while filming Star Wars: The Force Awakens – a great opportunity for a PI attorney.

Harrison Ford – Frequent Injuries

Jenilee Harrison is best known for appearing on the hit TV show Three’s Company where she was the replacement for the blonde roommate named Cindy Show after Suzanne Somers left the show. Her marriage with Bruce Oppenheim, a doctor, has stood the test of time since 1993. The actress mustn’t have searched for a divorce attorney since she’s been happily married for more than twenty years now.

Harrison Ford – Frequent Injuries

Demi Moore was a very familiar face for those who happened to love the movie industry back in the ’80s. Back then, she had had a number of lead roles, but on her road to stardom, she almost lost her faith in love, as she required a divorce lawyer three times. Yes, you heard it right, Demi Moore got divorced three times and her marriages didn’t last much either. So it would seem she had to change the locks, as well as her life insurance beneficiaries a couple of times.

Patrick Dempsey – Highschool Dropout

Patrick became a high school dropout to pursue a career in something he had always loved –  acting. We have to admit, it probably was the right call. He began his career as a theater actor, getting a role when he was just fifteen years old. He has had a screen presence ever since. Grey’s Anatomy made him a household name, made even sweeter with a bank account opening to store the money he earned for each episode he did. Patrick has also been involved with cancer research as his mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She died at the age of 79.

Matthew Broderick – Tragic Crash

Matthew Broderick became famous mostly for his role in the iconic comedy, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. However, the actor has had many other roles as well. He is happily married to actress Sarah Jessica Parker and the couple remains inseparable for over twenty years now. The actor needed a personal injury attorney once since he suffered from fractured ribs, a fractured leg and a concussion because of a car crash while driving a rented car in 1987.

Drew Barrymore – Substance Abuse

Drew Barrymore captured our hearts with her appearance in the iconic movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, which was released in 1982. It was more than apparent that Drew was born to be a star. However, she went through a rough patch during her teenage years, battling substance abuse. Not much was written about her inpatient drug rehab but in the end, she was able to overcome her condition successfully. Nowadays, she has her own family and has made a successful comeback into the acting world.

People who asked for Photoshop help and got hilarious results https://www.dofashion.net/people-who-asked-for-photoshop-help-and-got-hilarious-results/ Fri, 07 Jun 2024 01:37:34 +0000 https://www.dofashion.net/?p=3725

There are Photoshop experts out there willing to lend a helping hand to people and thus fix their most awful picture-related mistakes, but one guy James Fridman, has decided it would be fun to troll people and Photoshop their pictures in a way they never imagined. Just like the genie of old, who used to grant one lucky person three wishes, you have to be very, very careful about how you phrase those wishes. If you’re not, you might end up like the people in this article.

Taking things a little too literally

In case it wasn’t already obvious enough, James is a pretty big fan of taking things more literally than they were really meant. In this situation, this girl wanted to surprise her boyfriend by turning him into one of his idols.

He definitely would’ve gotten a kick out of seeing himself in boxing gloves, ready to rumble, but where’s the fun in that? He could just buy boxing gear if he wanted that! Instead, this Photoshop job lets him be something he could never be in real life. Arf arf

Be careful what you wish for….

Here’s a rare instance of someone actually getting the Photoshop work that they specifically asked for. But, as always, there was a catch. This woman wanted a version of her photo without that pesky gardener in the back distracting from her well-thought out composition.

She got that, but she learned a lesson in the process. If it weren’t for that humble man on his watering route, this is what the world would look like. How sad! Side note: those arches look really creepy without any leaves. Yikes.

Most people probably don’t think of pizza delivery people as the most classy people on the planet, but hey, maybe we need to change that narrative. They do hard work so that we never have to leave our house. We get to stay at home, chilling on the couch and eating a great dinner, all because of their service.

We salute you. We get that the pizza boxes in the background might look a bit messy, but think about the hard-working individuals who brought them there. Take a walk in their shoes!

There were a few different possible approaches that could’ve been taken on this one. The most obvious one was to just Photoshop out the mannequin on the right and replace it with a real woman, but there’s no joy in that.

Instead, he decided to replace the guy all together to make it a 100% mannequin photoshoot. It’s really well done, but we’ll be darned if it isn’t super creepy. Mannequins deserve love too, we guess, but the way he’s looking at her gives us the heebie jeebies.

Stunning Secrets From Behind the Scenes of ‘Married… With Children’ https://www.dofashion.net/stunning-secrets-from-behind-the-scenes-of-married-with-children/ Thu, 06 Jun 2024 08:01:38 +0000 https://www.dofashion.net/?p=3631

In 1986, on a fledgling TV station known simply as Fox, a show that would become a cultural touchstone during its 10-plus years on the air premiered. Married… with Children was not a roaring success during its first season, or even its second. It would take the work of a “family values” activist and some unintended consequences to turn it into a smash TV hit. Who was the activist, and what were the consequences? Hold tight, as those answers and more little-known Married… with Children facts will be revealed. You’ll learn fascinating — and in some cases, hilariously funny — tidbits about Al, Peggy, Kelly, Bud, Marcy, and yes, even Buck. Discover these behind-the-scenes Married… with Children facts that you (probably) never knew.

Where do you rank Married… with Children among the  all-time great comedy sitcoms? Where does Al Bundy rank among the all-time great television characters? How does Married… with Children compare to The Simpsons, the other show that made Fox into the powerhouse it is today? We want to hear from you! Let us know on Facebook and make sure to SHARE this with fellow fans of the Bundys!

The Show's Working Title

Source: Fox

The character of Marcy D’Arcy, Peggy Bundy’s best friend and neighbor, was named after an executive producer of The Cosby Show. Why, you ask? Well, the working title for Married …with Children during production, before the show aired, was Not the Cosbys.

Stealing From 'National Lampoon?'

In the original opening sequence, there is a shot of cars on an interstate interchange. That footage is actually from National Lampoon’s Vacation. The Griswolds’ Ford Crown Victoria station wagon can be seen in the short clip. Also, Al’s “mighty Dodge” vehicle in the show is actually a 1972 Plymouth Duster.

How About a Little Notice?!

Source: Fox

When the May 6, 1997 season finale aired — which would end up being the last episode — executives at Fox didn’t know if they would cancel the show. They finally decided they would, but didn’t tell the cast of their decision right away. Ed O’Neill was on vacation and overheard a couple at a table next to him discussing the cancellation. He reportedly paid for their meal and thanked them for letting him know.

Not an Overnight Success

Source: Fox

The show was not a huge success on the then little-known Fox network, but fate intervened in a strange way. A season three episode entitled “Her Cups Runneth Over” insulted Michigan “family values” activist Terry Rakolta so much that she felt compelled to write to several advertisers, asking them to pull their ads from the show. Several companies did, but the media coverage ended up drawing more viewers to the program, and it soon turned into a major hit.

The show’s cast and crew reportedly sent Rakolta flowers each year after it was renewed, and even spoofed the controversy in the season nine episode “No Pot to Pease In.” In that episode, the Bundys discover that there is a TV show based on their lives, which gets cancelled because a “housewife in Michigan didn’t like it.”

Peggy's Bouffant

It was reportedly Katey Sagal’s idea for Peggy to dress the way she did. When Sagal went in for her audition, she brought her own red bouffant wig. The producers loved it so much that they changed the character’s look.
